‘Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai’ (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) or simply known as ‘Bunny Girl Senpai’ is one of the most popular anime releases of the year so far.
Hajime Kamoshida and Keeji Mizoguchi wrote and drew a light book series for the comedic, supernatural romance series. In June 2019, a cinematic version of the anime, which also acted as a direct sequel, was released.
The light book series has yet to be turned into a film or television series. Is a new season of the anime series on the way? Those are the facts.
What is the status of the second season of “Bunny Girl Senpai?”
For two years already, the ‘Bunny Girl Senpai’ anime series has come to a conclusion. However, the second season of the anime has yet to be commissioned. Many fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the anime for season 2 in terms of popularity. Some critics believe the anime is overhyped, yet the series received an 8.31 rating on MyAnimeList despite this.
So why isn’t the anime renewed if so many people want it? The solution may be found in the original content.
There are now 11 volumes in the “Bunny Girl Senpai” light novel series. While the movie adaptation covered the sixth and seventh volumes of the book series, the first season of ‘Bunny Girl Senpai’ covered the first five volumes of the novel series.
We’ll have to wait till the 12th book of the novel series is out before we can see the anime. Only then do we have enough stuff to work with. There will be no second season if there is not enough source material. Don’t be alarmed by the lack of anime output. Even popular shows like ‘Bleach’ and ‘Mushishi’ had to wait nine years for fresh seasons.
When Could the Second Season of ‘Bunny Girl Senpai’ Come Out?
‘Bunny Girl Senpai’ season 2 will have to wait indefinitely without an official renewal. Volumes in the light novel series come out every 1-2 years. However, it’s possible that the 12th volume won’t be out until late 2020 or early 2021.
Bunny Girl Senpai’s Season 2 premiere date currently stands at 2023, if the show is renewed for a second season by the end of this year.
For the second time, these dates are mere guesswork. When new information becomes available, we’ll have to update this section.
Do you want to know what’s going on in the second season of “Bunny Girl Senpai?”
Sakuta Azusagawa, a selfless kid who is committed to assist Mai Sakurajima, a teenage actress, and others who suffer from “Adolescence Syndrome,” is the protagonist of the anime. Being invisible, gaining bodily bruises as a result of hateful comments, and so much more are all signs that teens are experiencing the phenomena.
In a library, Sakuta came face-to-face with the adolescent actor Mai, who was disguised as a bunny girl. His confusion grew as it dawned on him that no one else is aware of his relationship with Mai. In his investigation, he discovered that Mai’s “adolescence condition” leads her to appear invisible whenever she dressed properly in an effort to avoid her famous existence. When she does this, those around her appear to forget about her as well. For Sakuta’s younger sister, Kaede, the “Adolescence Syndrome” is also present. After being tormented online and receiving death threats, Kaede sustains injuries. She acquired dissociative amnesia as a means of coping with her past traumas. There is an unexplainable occurrence that Sakuta wants to investigate. On his journey to Mai’s house, he encounters several females who suffer from “Adolescence Syndrome.”

In the end, the first season was a pleasant one. In the end, Kaede is released from the hospital and chooses to return to school. Sakuta and Mai, meantime, continue to grow closer.Shoko, Sakuta’s first love interest, made her on-screen debut in this direct sequel.
Sakuta’s death in a vehicle accident on Christmas Day will enable the second Shoko in their history to occur, which is why we learned later that there are two Shokos in their chronology. To correct errors made in the past, the protagonists journey back in time in an attempt to rewrite history. In the end, Sakuta and Mai were able to rescue Sakuta without sacrificing Shoko. Sakuta and Mai discover Shoko, who is now a fourth-grader, toward the conclusion of the film, after a time shift. At the end, Sakuta and Shoko were able to identify one other.
To begin with, we anticipate the next season to continue where the film left off, if it is renewed. The 8th volume of the light novel series titled ‘Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister on an Outing’ is likely to be the starting point.
